Billy Ray Kilgore, age 54 of Marlin entered into rest on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Graveside services will be 9:30 A.M. Monday, August 10, 2009 at Hillcrest Cemetery with Elder Billy Walker officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation.
Billy was born May 29, 1955 in Marlin to Ralph and Rose Alice Courtney Kilgore. He was a truck driver and worked as a nurse’s aide at both Marlin nursing homes and in Bremond. He was a bartender at the club known as Moma’s Place where he met his wife, Cynthia Ehlers Kilgore.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Courtney, his grandmother, Emma Kilgore, who raised him and a sister, Anita Kilgore.
Billy is survived by his wife of 11 years, Cynthia of Marlin; his father Ralph Kilgore of Waco; sisters, Debbie Speas and husband John of Waco, Ruth Ward of Marlin, Dorothy Trumper and husband Gary of Blanket, Mary Douglas and husband Ray of Marlin, brothers, DaWayne Kilgore of El Paso, William Kilgore of Huntsville, Donald “Monkey” Kilgore and wife Linda of Madisonville, Clyde “Bubba” Kilgore and wife Alice of Hearne.
Also surviving are five step-children, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Adams Funeral Home in Marlin is in charge of the arrangements.
